Stock and restock dates
How stock levels are shown, what happens at zero, and when something is expected back.
Stores that track stock show what is available as you choose a size and colour. Stores that make each item on demand do not, because there is nothing to count.
The badge tells the truth or says nothing
Stock is a live number with a timestamp. If we cannot get a current one, you see the last known figure and how old it is — and once it is too old to trust, the badge disappears entirely rather than quietly showing yesterday's number as today's.
Stock never blocks checkout on our side. If the count is unavailable, the sale goes through; whether an item can be oversold is a setting on your store, not an accident of whether a number loaded.
When something is sold out
The stock report on your Reporting tab shows what is on hand, and for anything at zero, when it is expected back.
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
n/a | It is in stock. A date for something you already have is noise. |
| A date | Sold out, and that is when it is expected. |
| A date marked late | The expected date has passed. Worth asking us about. |
— | Sold out and we have not been given a date. We would rather say so than guess. |
