DocsRunning your store

Checkout fields

Extra questions your store asks — and the ones you answer once per person instead.

Store admins

A store can collect more than an address at checkout. Some answers belong to the order, and some belong to the person.

Asked every order

The shopper types it at checkout. It changes from one order to the next.

Player name · Delivery note · Event date

Saved on the person

You set it once. Checkout fills it in, and it rides along on every order they place.

Department · Location · Cost center

We set up which fields your store has. You keep the values they offer and who gets which one — neither needs us.

Setting the choices

Under Settings, open Checkout fields. Each field you manage has its own list: add, rename or remove a value, then Save.

Saying who gets what

Under People, open Team. Each field you answer per person has its own column — pick a value and it saves as you go.

Sam has no department yet. A column is what makes a gap findable.

Four things worth knowing

  • Blank means not set. If the field is required, that person cannot check out until you fill it in — and they are told to ask you, by name of the field.
  • Shoppers never set their own. A field you answer for somebody is not shown to them at checkout, and a value they send anyway is ignored.
  • Past orders do not change. Move somebody to a new department and their earlier orders keep the one they were placed under. Your history stays true to when things happened.
  • Removing an option does not wipe anyone. People already on it keep it until you pick something else for them.
